Behind the Stitch: Button Sewing – Sewing Technique Video

Create beautiful fabric flowers with your sewing machine. Button sewing doesn’t have to be done by hand, and it isn’t hard! Follow along to learn how to make your own with the button fitting foot.

Instructions

This simple project can be made in just minutes. All you need is a long, skinny scrap of fabric and a button!

With your machine set to a basting stitch, stitch 2 side-by-side rows. Gather the strip of fabric and twist it into a flower shape.

Now, use your button fitting foot to add the button. That’s it!

Button Fitting Foot

Attach 2- or 4-hole buttons to garments and other projects with your machine. This convenient foot holds buttons in place, allowing your machine to attach buttons to fabric with a sturdy zigzag stitch. This foot is perfect for buttons that can lay flat without much thread shank.
