Embroidered Tablet Case – Embroidery Project

It’s back to school time! Here is a quick and easy project to make that teenager or kid going off to college — a personalized tablet case. Help them keep their device safe and get lots of compliments with this quick embroidery project.

What’s your back to school routine?

Every year I try to make the kids something for school. This has become a little tradition and fun for all of us. Typically, I decide what we’re going to make based on the amount of time we have and what they need. It might be something small, like a pencil case, or larger such as a nap time blanket when my kids were younger.

Whatever it is that we’re making their favorite part is the trip to the fabric store. We go together and they get to pick out the fabric they want. I try to provide a little direction, but it doesn’t always work (one year we ended up with a very eclectic gym bag).

I try to work in some sort of embellishment on anything I make them — embroidery, heat transfer vinyl, rhinestones, etc. Once again, they get to provide direction on this step as well, making it a little bit exhausting.

When it’s all said and done they’ve been very proud of the finished piece and are very excited to show it to their friends. For me, it was one last summer fling before getting back into the swing of school.
