Fall 2017 Fashion Trends You Can Create!

It’s hard to think about fall when it’s still June, but August and Back to School are just around the corner. Which means, all the fall 2017 fashions will be in stores (and I’m sure you know someone that will jump at the hip styles).

This had me thinking, “What are a few fall 2017 fashion trends that I could recreate for a fraction of the cost?” Here’s a round up of a few ideas, inspired by the runway, that you could WOW your daughter or grand-daughter with this fall.

Fall 2017 Fashion Trends

Western Front

This season’s crop of cowboy-inspired looks—including Raf Simons’ debut collection for Calvin Klein—reimagines what we think of the old-timey trend. But it’s not so quiet on the Western front, with modern takes on the steel-toed boot, leather vests, cowhide prints, and kitschy cacti.

How can you make this trend yours? Change out the pocket tops from an old button down to suede or cowhide. Embellish an old denim vest or jacket with this Cowboy Boot Embroidery Design Collection from Anita Goodesign.

Power Red

It’s official: red is the color of Fall 2017There were sleek coats at Givenchy, monochromatic looks at Tod’s, and a statement OTK boot by Fendi soon-to-be seen all over the street style circuit.

And, would you just look at some of the sleeves in the image above! That’s right, flowing, fluffy, BIG sleeves are IN… again! Think back to the good ol’ days when you would turn anything into a shoulder-padded, tent sleeve style shirt and do it all over! Channel your inner youth and make those sleeves.

Midlength Skirts

Out are the mini skirts and maxi skirts to the floor. Say hello to the midlength skirt.

Major designers like Christian Dior, Loewe, and Victoria Beckham are pirouetting toward ballet beautiful styles this fall. They showcased a flattering skirt hemmed at the calf with full, flouncy movement.

You’ve got this — just adjust your favorite skirt pattern to midlength. Most patterns have alternate lengths included, so refer back to the original, make a new copy and start stitching!

Another Fall 2017 fashion trend you can mix in — florals, as in vintage couch florals, and 70’s plaid.

Russian Doll Vibes

Fur collars and detailed floral embroidery sprinkled the collections of Gucci, Altuzarra, and Kate Spade New York alike.

Did they say, “detailed floral embroidery?!” Check the box, you’ve got this trend IN THE BAG!

Peruvian Blooms from Anita Goodesign is a great option for adding these type of detailed floral embroidery without weighing down the fabric. The look of these florals also compliments the inspiration from the runway.

Make it your way

These are just a few of the hot Fall 2017 Trends. Which one inspires you to create something uniquely yours for the fall?

I love the idea of mixing a few of them together — Power Red with the detailed floral embroidery OR 70’s plaid with the Cowboy Wear.
