Quilting Rules! with Alfonsina Uriburu
Professional Quilter ALFONSINA URIBURU is at our special guest at our B-Inspired Club in Fayetteville, AR on May 2 (1:00 and 5:30) and in our Tulsa, OK store at 11am, May 3! Come by for a FREE demonstration on one of our quilting machines.
Alfonsina will be teaching us how to use quilting templates with your sewing machine. You’ll learn how easy it is to install your foot and use one of her templates to create perfectly even quilting on your next project! It’s exciting to learn this quilting technique and mesmerizing to watch someone as skilled as Alfonsina.
Alfonsina describes her techniques: “Free motion quilting is all about practicing… playing really…with your sewing machine, thread and fabric. My focus here is on unmarked free motion rulers patterns to help you gain skill and confidence in your stitching abilities.”

Know Your Shank Size
If you’re new to machine quilting, make sure you know your machine’s shank height. If you have a high shank machine, you’ll need to purchase high shank rulers and foot.
Here is a guide to help determine your shank height. If you know the type of machine you own, you can also ask one of our Team Members for help.
Alfonsina has presented classes in Spain, France and Portugal on ALL brands of sewing machines. She’s designed and developed her own line of unique quilting rulers and ruler feet, and uses these during her presentations.
From Alfonsina: I launched the ruler kit to meet the needs of my online quilters students. They have domestic machines for quilting and the quilt work is supposed to be accurate as well as fun, like with the long arm machine. I’ve been using rulers since I started quilting a long time ago and I wanted my students to use them with their own machines. So I had to adapt the ruler height and the thickness of the presser feet to succeed. Now you can achieve your dream of quilting like a PRO with my rulers kit
