STEPS:

    1. Follow the next set of cutting directions to cut the following sections for the apron:
      1. From the beige fabric, cut two rectangles 3” x 6”. (A and G pocket sections)
      2. From the floral canvas print, cut one section 5” x 6”. (B pocket section)
      3. From the beige fabric, cut one section that measures 2 ½” x 6”. (C pocket section)
      4. From the floral canvas fabric, cut one section that measures 3 ½” x 6”. (D pocket section)
      5. From the beige fabric, cut one section that measures 2” x 6”. (E pocket section)
      6. From the floral fabric, cut one section that measures 6” x 6”. (F pocket section)
      7. From the beige fabric, cut one section that measures 6” x 22” for the facing on the pocket.
      8. From the checked print, cut one section that measures 9 ½” x 20” for front background on apron.
      9. From the beige fabric, cut one section that measures 9 ½” x 20” for the back of the apron.
      10. From the beige, cut one section that measures 3 ½” x 20” for the waistband.
      11. From the floral fabric, cut two strips that measure 3 ½” x 42” for the ties.
    2. Set up the machine for sewing. Using a ¼” seam allowance throughout, piece A, B, C, D, E, F and G sections together in that order to create the pocket front.
      1. Press all of the seam allowances in one direction.
    3. With right sides together, sew the pocket front to the 6 “x 22” beige facing section along the top edge of the sections.
      1. Turn the section so that wrong sides are facing and press along the seam line.
      2. Top stitch ¼” along the top edge. Baste the around the raw edges on the remaining sides to secure.
    4. To create the pleats on the (F) section on the pockets, measure in ½” from both edges and mark with the frixion pen. Measure 1” in from each mark and place another mark.
      1. Fold the second mark toward the first mark on both sides. Sew across the bottom edge to secure the folds.
    5. Place the pocket section right side up over the 9 ½” x 20” checked section with the bottom edges even.
    6. Attach the Stitch-in-the-ditch foot to the machine. Stitch down the seam lines to create the pockets.
    7. With right sides together, attach the beige 9 ½” x 22” section to the pocket section. Sew along the sides and the bottom edge. Trim the bottom corners and turn right side out. Press.
    8. To make the tab for hanging your glasses, fold the 1 ½” x 7” section in half lengthwise and press. Fold the raw edges to the center fold line.
      1. Fold the crease lines again and press. Topstitch along both edges. Fold the tab in half with the raw edges even.
      2. Attach to the apron approximately 2” in from one of the side seams. Baste the tab in place.
    9. To make the swivel hook tab, take the section that measures 2” x 4 ½” and follow the same directions as in Step 8.
      1. Slip one end of the tab through the end of the swivel hook and place the tab 2” from the opposite side of the apron. Baste to secure.
    10. To create the waistband and ties follow the next set of direction:
      1. Sew the ties to the waistband section on each end. Press the seam outward.
      2. Fold the waistband and tie section in half with raw edges even. Sew the bottom seam on both of the tie ends stopping at the waistband seam.
      3. Clip the edges on the ties while folding under ¼” on both edges of the waistband and press.
      4. Turn right side out.
      5. Place the pocket section between the folded edges on the waistband section and pin in place.
      6. To finish, topstitch all the way around the waistband and ties to secure to the apron. Be sure that you catch the folded edges on the front and back of the waistband.
