Why Quilters Love the GO! Flying Fish Die:
• Flying Fish is a traditional quilt block that falls into the ‘Four Patch’ category, characterized by a diamond within a square. Four Patch blocks are divided into four parts by horizontal and vertical seams.
• Flying Fish is a Block on Board® (BOB® ) die which means it’s specially designed to cut a 3-color, 9" block in one pass through the cutter.
• No Y seams! Flying Fish includes 10 shapes that are time- consuming to cut by hand.
• Flying Fish features specialized dog-ears and 1/4" seam allowances for easy alignment and piecing.
• Flying Fish includes screen printed letters on die for easier piecing and organization of shapes.
• Free pattern downloads and step-by-step block assembly instructions are available to get you started.
• Fat Quarter-friendly
How to Die Cut 3-Color Flying Fishs:
• For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. Tip: The die is specially designed to cut one complete 3-color 9" finished block in one pass through the cutter.
• Fabric Color 1:
– Cut two 8" x 3-5/8" rectangles. Place right side up over shapes A to cut four shapes.
– Cut two 4" squares. Place right side up over shapes B to cut eight shapes.
– Cut two 5-7/8" x 7-1/4" rectangles. Fanfold and place (4 layers total) over shapes D to cut four chisels facing one direction and four chisels facing opposite direction.
• Fabric Color 2: Cut two 4" squares. Place right side up over shapes B to cut eight shapes.
• Fabric Color 3: Cut two 2-5/8" x 4-3/4" rectangles. Place right side up over shapes C to cut four shapes
