- (1) 2” x 5 1/2” rectangle fusible web
- (1) 2 1/2” x width of tea towel plus 1 inch orange fabric
Instructions:
Using the template provided, trace the shapes onto the paper side of the fusible web. Cut apart and apply the shapes to the wrong side of color fabric scraps. Cut out the appliqué shapes along the pattern lines and remove the paper backing.
Fold the tea towel in half both ways and lightly crease the folds. Referring to the photo and placement diagram place the ghost in the center about 2” up from the edge. Arrange the bats eyes and mouth per the placement diagram. Fuse in place per manufacturer instructions on the fusible web package.
Stitch all around each appliqué shape with the Free-Motion Open Toe quilting foot.
Fold and press the short ends of the orange fabric to match the width of the tea towel. Place the fabric wrong side down on the backside of the towel above the hem and stitch into place. Turn and press the orange fabric over the towel hem onto the front side of towel. Pin in position and stitch in place with a decorative stitch.
Using the Character Decorative Stitches on your Baby Lock machine, type “it’s a boo-ti-ful life” in the small font size. Stitch on white 2” x 5 1/2” rectangle. Trim away any connecting threads and apply fusible web to the wrong side of the fabric. Trim down to 1” x 4 3/4”.
Remove paper backing from the white rectangle fuse in the center of the black fabric rectangle and position directly on the towel. Stitch all around the white rectangle with zigzag or decorative stitching.
