The Baby Lock Bridging Plates keep two pieces of fabric separated at an equal distance. This is most commonly used in Heirloom sewing with the technique of Bridging also known as Fagoting. This technique is where two fabric pieces are joined by threads over an open area.
To add a dramatic appearance switch the bobbin thread to a heavier cord for bobbinwork.
